Summer

At BLAST we are getting ready for a fantastic Summer Day Camp.
BLAST (Bible Learning and Summer Time Fun Day Camp) is going to continue into summer where the school year left off. We are offering a Summer Day Camp that will intrigue your child with a fun-filled, action packed day.

We offer unforgettable Summer adventures with programs that consist of integrated, creative, and imaginative theme activities each week. Adventures are endless and learning comes naturally! Below are our planned themes for this summer.

Theme
Let the Summer Fun Begin—At BLAST, we know that campers just want to have fun. Our first week will be jammed pack of fun times, making new friends, and learning new games. Campers will have their first swim day and roll on over to Kate’s Skating Rink.
3-2-1 BLAST Off to Outer Space—Campers get ready for take off! Take off for new adventures that is, the alien kind. Campers will make crazy space projects and alien slime. The K-2 group will visit Kid Senses in Rutherfordton, NC and the 3rd Grade and up group will tour the Catawba Science Center in Hickory, NC.
** No Camp During July 4th Week **
Sports Blitz-It’s a week full of games focused on teamwork, having fun, sportsmanship, and being a team player. Campers will play basketball, volleyball, wiffle ball, kickball, dodge ball, and more. This week is sure to get campers up and active.
Eco-Quest-Calling all earth friendly campers, don’t miss this special week of cool ideas to help preserve our earth. Learn green ideas to share with your friends and families. We will go on eco-hike, visit the Farmer’s Market, play recycling games, and may even paint Pastor Greg’s face green (with earth and people friendly paint of course!) The K-2 group will venture out to the Catawba Science Center in Hickory, NC. And, the 3rd Grade and up group will go gold mining at Reed’s Gold Mine in Midland, NC.
Wild About Animals-From wags to whiskers, from peacocks to potbelly pigs campers will go wild about animals while discovering some pretty cool animals. Learn animal responsibility and safety and get up close to nature. The K-2 Group will leap over to the Thera-Pet Farm in Bostic, NC and the 3rd Grade and up will cart way over to the Lazy 5 Ranch.
Planes, Trains & Automobiles—It’s go time to travel through camp in a unique and creative way. Campers will take part in a high-flying paper airplane contest, a cool car project, and buckle up for high speed games. The K-2 Group will zoom out to the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC for a train ride. And, the 3rd Grade and up group will high tail it up to Hickory Dickory Dock for chasing action on the bumper cars, miniature golf, and the three-story play tunnels.
Arctic Freeze-The Meteorologist says it’s the hot, August days of summer, but maybe not at BLAST this week. Campers will have a super cool week of frozen treats, cool down with ice games, and a snow globe project. Both groups will bundle up to ice skate at the Ice House in Pineville, NC.
Super Soakin-How is BLAST prepared to beat the heat of the Summer on this week? By having a sure to get soak’n, gotta have fun, “blast” of a time! Campers will spend time at the pool, challenging water relays, frozen t-shirt race, water balloon toss and more. Splishing and splashing all while we are laughing and having a great time!
Peace Out-This may be the last week of Summer Camp ‘09 but this week will be one to remember. Campers will vote for their favorite snacks, lunch, and games!
